Selector (10) for an on-load tap changer (15) having a load transfer switch (14), comprising - an insulating plate (11) with a first side (20) and a second, opposite side (30); - a plurality of fixed contacts (18) which extend from the first side (20), through the insulating plate (11), to the second side (30); - a first moving contact (21) on the first side (20); - a second moving contact (31) on the second side (30); - a first connection (27) which is connected to the first moving contact (21); - a second connection (37) which is connected to the second moving contact (31); wherein - each moving contact (21, 31) can be selectively connected to each of the fixed contacts (18).
