The invention relates to an device for holding a vacuum cleaner filter bag in a vacuum cleaner. The device comprises a holding plate receiving area for receiving a holding plate of the vacuum cleaner filter bag on a bearing surface of the holding plate receiving area and a closing element which can be pivoted between an open position and a closed position, said closing element comprising a latching hook. In a closed position of the closing element, the latching hook latches on a holding plate received on the holding plate receiving area such that the closing element is held in the closed position by the latching hook, and the closing element comprises, on the side facing the holding plate receiving area, an engagement element which is designed to engage with a projection or a cutout*** in the holding plate such that the closing element, in the closed position thereof, holds the holding plate, which is received by the holding plate receiving area, in a specified position.
